I do think there's a chance. it sounds like he just needs reurance because of his insecurities. did you make him feel good about himself? you made it seem like in your descripton that you think you were doing him a favor by dating him, which I'm sure you didn't mean to do, but he could be thinking this way. very bad. don't bombard him with texts or anything like that, but next time you happen to talk, preferably if he initiates, let him know how important he is to you. if that isn't enough, giving him space would be best.
