Amanda Knox sentence: Are claims of "Anti-Americanism" realistic?

Americans generally have a narrow minded view of the world? I've spent a lot of time in Europe, including Italy and England. My father-in-law was Italian and he hated the English. Let's face it, no one likes anyone else, the Italians don't like anyone besides themselves, and most other European countries feel the same. The Amanda Knox trial was a tabloid trial, and should be an embarrment to the Italians, but it isn't because they really don't care what anyone thinks about them. I'd imagine any parent in their right mind wouldn't send their child to college in Italy after this. My sister lived in Italy and she said if you had a car accident there it was automatically your fault if you were not Italian, even though the Italians drive like lunatics. Anyone that has spent any time there knows they almost pride themselves in inefficiency. Is Amanda Knox flaky and immature? Yes. Were her You Tube videos and social networking pages evidence of a violent personality disorder? Not hardly. Let's get the video rolling down at the local pub and see how some of the locals come across. It was terrible what happened in Perugia but this looked like more of a Salem witch trial than anything else. They had the person responsible in custody and they should have been happy with that. It's more than a stretch to believe what the prosecution said happened, it is a twisted fabrication. Odd behavior isn't enough to send someone to jail for 26 years. And if Britain thinks they'd have been treated any differently if the nationality of the girls had been reversed, they're dreaming.
