How do i set my karaoke dvd player up to my plasma tv without getting a delay when i plug the mic in?

i just bought a skyline karaoke dvd play,it has 2 mic inputs on it with echo feature and i plugged it into my 42"plasma tv.it works fine exept when you plug the microphone in and try and sing there is a delay between the karaoke player and the plasma, it works fine on any normal tv but with a plasma theres a slight delay,is there any way round about this
