"Love thy neighbor" is apparent in many religions.. what are your opinions?

Christianity says we should love our neighbor as ourselves , but it also says that if you have ought against your neighbor that you should go to him and tell him and if it continues you should bring an elder of the church or 2 people also in the LORDS prayer it states we should forgive others as we want to be forgiven , this scripture helps me the most BUT sometimes it takes me awhile ,ANd do not let the sun go down on your anger .
