Should I preorder the PSVita for $180?

ok, the starting price for the upcoming PSVita is $250. I have $70 promotion gift card that I could use on amazon so if I use it for the PSVita, I will be spending $180 at launch rather then $250. I never had a playStation system before so this is be new for me and the games so far looks to have a great variety and launch line-up which Sony is very good at compared to Nintendo where I lost hope with the lack of 3rd party support and Microsoft who seems to rely too much on shooters. I do have an xbox 360 however and I love it. I am mainly thinking about buying the PSVita because I am going to a community college next year and then go away to college like in 2014. So I would like a handheld so I can play it anywhere when I'm chilling and so I won't be in my dorm room all day. The games look very interesting so far. What should I do?
